PJ

Cartoonist | Illustrator | Visual Information Specialist
I am a Queer Nonbinary African American Artist who specializes in and web cartooning from Lake Charles, Louisiana. I was born in Landstuhl ,Germany on an Army base but raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana since I was six years old. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree of visual arts concentrated in graphic design from McNeese State University where I learned to use my illustrative skills as a storyteller. I also have a Master’s in Fine Arts in Illustration from the Academy of Art University. My main hope as a freelance cartoonist is to make my clients feel seen and heard by their commissioned art even if it comes out different than if they did it alone.I am a firm believer in truth and kindness by personal example. This belief comes from all the different I have, and continue to, met throughout my life who support me in my growth as a person and as an artist. They are proof that success is I also believe that art in any form isn’t for solving problems, but about creating bridges between people to explore different perspectives. Hopefully my art is able to connect you to others and let you know that you are not alone.
